Abstract: Cloud computing is the new buzzword in the industry and the hype is getting to be quite intense. Some in the industry have likened it to the impact that microprocessors had on the IT in the eighties. Regardless of the hype, there is a real promise. Come to this session to understand what Cloud Computing really is and how it applies to data and databases. Hear about experiences of some of the early adopters and learn the areas where benefits are real and where it is just an empty hype.
